Susanne Lewis

Susanne Lewis, age 79, passed February 24, 2025 surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her husband John Lewis, parents; James and Dorothy Taylor, brother; James William Taylor. She is survived by her children; Dave (Kelly) Lewis, Dana (Tom) Wolff, sisters; Judith Spornick and Melissa (Mike) Finan, grandchildren; Amanda Beiswanger, Tommy Wolff, Emma Wolff, and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Susanne met the love of her life, John Lewis, while attending ballroom dance lessons at Arthur Murray Dance Studio. John was the instructor and Susanne was the student. She would go on to become a dance instructor herself. The two eventually got married and were together for over five decards. Susanne was a very artistic and creative soul. Her interests included dancing, painting, playing the piano, upholstery, and crafting. One of her favorite hobbies was creating a Santa Claus Village every Christmas, often taking up a large portion of the family's living room. All of the children, grandchildren, and often the kids from the neighborhood would come over to enjoy it, always looking for the little details and surprises that would change from year to year. The Santa Village even garnered the attention of the local newspaper, who came out and did an article about it. Later in life Susanne focused her passion on her painting. She excelled in still life and landscape painting but proved worthy in portraiture as well. The walls of all the families' homes are adorned with her creations lending a sense of immortality to her talent. Susanne was also passionate about her faith. She was a member of the Calvary flock and baptized a few days after her birthday in 2022. She enjoyed listening to Bill Gaither and even road tripped with friends in her women's group to see the Gaither Family in concert. Speaking of women's groups, Susanne founded the Wisdom of Widows group. W.O.W, a gathering of women, both in the church and out, who have experienced the trials and loneliness of widowhood. They got together often to share "high tea" and camaraderie. Lastly, but certainly not least, Susanne loved her animals. She had a love for all things great and small. Whether it be the fish in her various aquariums and ponds, birds, both inside the house and out, or numerous dogs and cats, far too many to name. There were even a few goats and chickens in the mix. Susanne was a woman of many talents, there wasn't a project that she wouldn't tackle. Her personality was always energetic and infectious, bringing a sense of positivity to all those around her. She will be sorely missed on this mortal coil. But, rest assured, she is once again dancing with the love of her life, John....
