Scott Kaech

Scott Kaech, a cherished son, beloved brother, loving husband, devoted father, caring uncle, and friend to many, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the age of 39. Born on August 27, 1986, Scott’s life—though far too short—was defined by love, family, hard work, and living life without fear. Above all else, Scott was a loving husband to his wife, Misty, and a devoted father to his daughters, Lorelai, Abby, and Elena. He was also a proud son and a caring uncle who shared laughter, guidance, and affection with his nieces and nephews. Scott was a Master Maintenance Technician at Target Metal Blanking, where he was highly respected for his expertise, dedication, and problem-solving skills. He also had great skills with computers and working on cell phones, often helping family and friends troubleshoot and learn new technology. Scott lived boldly and fearlessly and had a mischievous sense of humor that kept those around him laughing. He loved going off-roading, especially at the I-80 trails, where he could often be found searching for the muddiest hole to get stuck in. He was never afraid to do donuts or blast the train horn in his favorite truck, the Supa GMC. Scott also loved working on projects with the whole family, finding joy in building, fixing, and creating things together. He cherished simple, joyful moments — especially letting his girls paint his toenails — a reflection of his playful spirit, patience, and deep devotion as a father. Scott was preceded in death by his father, James Kaech, and his brother, Tim. He is survived by his mother, Sue Ann (Mark); his wife, Misty; his daughters, Lorelai, Abby, and Elena; and his siblings Jesse (Jessica), Cindy, Jason (Jessica), Amanda (Damien), Kevin (Amy), Kyle (Lori), Lauren (Taris); along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will carry his memory forward with love. The memorial visitation for Scott will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, Indiana. Scott Kaech will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
