Robert J. Klaich

Robert J. Klaich, \"Robbie\" age 52, of Hammond, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2008. He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Barbara (Roytan); his two sons; Michael (Samantha) of Crown Point, and Kevin (girlfriend Anjelika Canelo) of Hammond; his mother, Alfreida Klaich (Wojciechowski); his twin brother Richard A. Klaich of Boston, MA, and his two older brothers David (Audrey) of St. John, and Jerry (Pat) of Schererville; his many nephews and nieces; his brothers-in-law, Billy (Pam) Roytan of Indianapolis, Mark (Sherri) Roytan of Houston, TX, and Michael Roytan of Houston, TX; father-in-law illiam Roytan of Crown Point. Also his hairy daughter and his most trusted companion Rosie, and two hairy granddoggies Kookie and Taz, whom he loved with all his heart. He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Klaich, mother-in-law, Margaret Roytan, brother-in-law, John Roytan and dog Brandy. Robert was a graduate of East Chicago Washington High School, Class of 1974, where he lettered in track and played basketball. He received a certificate in Supervision from Purdue University Calumet. He was a Supervisor at Mittal Strrl where he had been employed for over thirty-two years. He was an area baseball coach for over twenty years, where he enjoyed great success at the national (Hammond Chiefs 2003) and state level (Bishop Noll Instituted 2004). One of his greatest joys in life was to ride his Harley Davidson. He always would say \"live hard, ride easy\". He also enjoyed going to baseball games to cheer on his favorite team, the Chicago White Sox. He loved to check out the area Harley Davidson shops, andplay on his computer. But, his true enjoyment in life was his family. He loved his family with all his heart. He will be forever remembered as a kind, caring, and very loving Spouse, Father and Friend to all he knew. Funeral services Wednesday, April 2, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at the Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, CArown Point with Rev. Theodore J. Mens, officiating. Services will terminate at the funeral home with cremation following at the Burns Funeral Home Crematory. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.
