Julia Kluga

Julia Kluga (nee Ramos), 79 years old of Schererville, Indiana, passed away on February 1, 2024, surrounded by family. She is survived by her children: Kenneth Kluga of Calumet Township, Douglas (Elsa) Kluga of St. John, Donnell (Jody) Belcher of Lowell, and Jennifer (Victor Jr.) Jorge of Dyer; five loving grandchildren: Jessica, Jayden, Ashlee, Lillian, Mateo, and one great grandchild, Cole. Julia is also survived by her remaining siblings: Barbara Kotynski, Phyllis (Tom) Candiano, Gregory (Patti) Ramos, Edward (Karen) Ramos, Cyndee (Nori) Sakata, Mary Ellen (Alejandro) Hernandez, and sister-in-law, Paula Ramos. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald “Kluga” Kluga; parents, Philip F. and Mary Ramos; brothers, Philip and Michael Ramos. Julia worked at Community Hospital for 22 years as the Manager of Non-Invasive Cardiology. Prior to that, she worked at Methodist Hospital in Merrillville for 8 years. She was a woman who led with integrity and encouraged the women who she was around to do the same. For many years she enjoyed being a Longaberger consultant with many trips taken to Dresden, Ohio. Upon retirement she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. She was their biggest fan and was a staple at their events. She enjoyed baking and making tamales at Christmas time. Loved spending time with family, and her flower gardens brought pure joy to her. She looked forward to the annual Labor Day weekend, whether it was tent camping in the earlier years or more recently, in Michigan. A long-standing family tradition that will carry on. She leaves a void in our hearts for all who knew her. Her contagious smile and her laugh will forever live in our hearts. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 2 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 7 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home & Crematory, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN. Rev. Thomas E.
