Earl A. Nordahl Jr.

Earl Anthony Nordahl Jr., age 53, of Merrillville, Indiana, passed away on November 12, 2025. Born on July 16, 1972, in Chicago, Illinois, Earl was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence brought warmth and joy to all who knew him. Earl is survived by his devoted parents, Earl Nordahl Sr., and Bobbie Nordahl; his siblings, Tammy Nordahl, Eric Nordahl, Chrystal Oxhaku, and Keith Nordahl; his daughter, Carissa Campbell; as well as his sister-in-law, Yesenia Nordahl, and brother-in-law, Marsel Oxhaku. He also leaves behind a large and cherished extended family, including his nephews and niece—Steven Rojas, Roger Rojas, Anthony Rojas, Mario Dukes, Eric Andrew Nordahl, Nevin Oxhaku, Ariel Nordahl, and Dario Oxhaku—along with his great-nephew, Zander Rojas. Earl’s family was a central part of his life, and he held each of them close to his heart. Earl was known for his fun-loving spirit and the smile that rarely left his face, as his jokes and sense of humor brought his loved ones together. His friendly and approachable nature made him someone people naturally gravitated toward, and he had a unique way of making others feel comfortable and valued. His big personality shined during the holidays as he proudly played the family’s dedicated Santa, spreading joy to everyone around him. Earl was also a deeply giving person who never hesitated to help others, offering his time, support, and kindness without expecting anything in return. Earl had a lifelong passion for racing cars, embracing the excitement, discipline, and thrill that the sport offered. Racing was more than a hobby for him—it was a part of his identity and a source of tremendous joy. In the spirit of honoring that passion, his family will have a racetrack day, knowing that will surely put a smile on his face as he watches from above. Earl also cherished the quiet pleasures of fishing, finding peace and reflection in the calmness of the water. These pursuits reflected the full spectrum of his nature—adventurous and spirited, yet grounded and serene. Above all, Earl will be remembered for the joy he brought into the lives of others. His genuine kindness, easygoing demeanor, and unwavering positivity left a lasting impact on all fortunate enough to know him. His absence will be deeply felt, but the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of Earl at Burns Funeral Home and Crematory, 701 E. 7th Street, Hobart, IN 46342, on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A memorial prayer service will follow from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m. as loved ones come together to honor his life and legacy.
