Amy Anne Haaland

Amy Anne Haaland, beloved mother and grandmother passed away Thursday evening on February 15th, 2024. She was born Amy Anne Haaland in Silver City, New Mexico on January 24th, 1959, and was preceded in death by her mother; Amy Ellen Haaland, father; Aage Haaland, and husband; John R. Ramer. Amy was the first generation born in the United States after her father; Aage Haaland immigrated. From her, she has left a legacy in the form of five children and six grandchildren. She survived by her five children: Amy Elizebeth Ferris, Katina Faith Haaland-Ramer, Erik Christian Aage Haalnd-Ramer, Sabrina Marie Haaland-Ramer, and James Lee Haaland, grandchildren: Victoria Joseph, Genevieve Pugh, Issabell Pugh, Kitarra Haaland-Hopkins, Victor Haaland-Hopkins and Maximus Haaland-Hopkins. She achieved many things in her life and had acquired an associate degree and two bachelor’s degrees. In her lifetime she was an educator and a nurse amongst many other things. She was baptized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when she was 8 and maintained a lifelong connection with the church wherever she traveled or moved. Her faith and spiritual sense became stronger in her later years after the death of her husband John R. Ramer. One of her final wishes was to be buried at Evergreen Cemetery so in death she and John could reside together. Amy had many hobbies and talents including arts, music, crocheting and a deep love and understanding of history. Many of these hobbies have been passed down to her children and grandchildren. She did many charitable works over the years including Toys for Tots, Hats for Cancer Kids, winter clothing drives for needy families and so many more. She was loved by many and her presence on this earth affected so many lives. Although Amy was only 65, the time she was here she made sure she lived a life worth remembering. The funeral will take place Thursday February 22nd, 2024, from 9:00-10:00 AM at Burns Funeral Home 701 East 7th Street Hobart, Indiana and then transport to her final resting place, Evergreen Cemetery 3815 West 39th Ave Hobart, Indiana. The ceremony will be presided over with opening and closing prayers by the church she so loved and was affiliated with her whole life, Bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Amy Anne Haaland beloved mother and most cherished grandmother will be forever missed but will never be forgotten.
