William "Bill" (OB) F. O'Brien Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Bill O’Brien (OB), age 66, a lifelong residence of Hammond, passed away May 27, 2022. He was born on November 7,1955 to William and Beverly O’Brien in Hammond, Indiana. He went on to graduate from Morton High School in 1974. As a young man, Bill began to work in the steel industry at Vulcan Industries in South Chicago. He then went on to work for many years at the City of Hammond Street and Sanitation Department and retired as a General Foreman after 27 years of service. He was a member of VFW, FOP and Goodfellas Club. He met his High School sweetheart Judy Howard and they married in 1980. They were blessed with son William O’Brien, where life was cherished for years. Bill was a good son, a good husband and father; a loving grandfather, a loving godfather and a lifelong best friend to many. If you were lucky enough to meet Bill, you were lucky enough to make a friend. There was nothing this man would not do for a friend. Bill had a love for music like no other. You could often catch him playing his guitar. Bill was loved and will be missed greatly every day. He was preceded in death by his wife Judy, his parents William and Beverly, and is survived by his son Bill (Amanda) grandchildren Katlynn, Addyson, Liam and significant other Angela Swisshelm.
