Rodney A. Vanderplough

February 17, 1965 - March 23, 2022

Rodney A Vanderplough, age 57 of Hobart, passed away March 23,2022. He was born on February 17, 1965 in Gary IN to Jim and Beverly Vanderplough. He was baptized and confirmed at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Merrillville IN. Rodney graduated high school in 1983. He served in the National Guard from 1982-1984 as well as the the U.S. Navy from 1986-1989. Rodney was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He worked for the National Park service as a tractor operator for many years.He loved sports and enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing with his family. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Rodney was preceded in death by his parents- Jim and Beverly Vanderplough, brother James “Jimmy” Vanderplough and nephew Luke Neideffer. He is survived by his two daughters Nicole (Mike) Bilderback; Kelli Vanderplough; granddaughter Lyla Bilderback; sister Julie ( Randy) Neideffer; brother Jeff Vanderplough; two nieces Victoria Neideffer and Sydney Neideffer; nephew Thomas Vanderplough.
