Margaret Dawson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Margaret Dawson (nee Joseph), age 87, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2022. She was born on August 28, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, to Jeremiah and Blanche Joseph. Margaret married Eugene Rice in 1955, who preceded her in death in 1958. In 1959, she married Jerald Dawson and they lived in Hobart, Indiana. They had 6 children and were married 57 years, until Jerald’s death in 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, son- Robert, and brothers- Frank and Lewis. Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She treasured her children and family and she prayed daily for every one of them. Margaret loved the Lord and her desire was to serve Him all the days of her life. She was a member of New Life Community Church in Hobart. Margaret enjoyed reading her Bible, sewing and baking. She always thought of others and gave with her whole heart. She is survived by her daughters- Kathryn Corson, Susan (Michael) Koleff, Marjorie (Michael) Vale, Lory Branscome, Rebecca Dawson and daughter-in-law, Vera Dawson; grandchildren- Mallory, Elizabeth (Erik), Matthew, Molly (Matt), Bryan (Lauren), Whitney (Chris), Michelle (Jorge), Micah, Mandy, Miriam (Benjamin), Marah (Joey), Marc, Joseph, Jenna, Benjamin, and Daniel; 12 great grandchildren; brother- James (Phyllis) and sister- Dorothy; beloved cat- Darcey; nieces, nephews, and many close friends. Margaret loved each one dearly. Her legacy will live on forever.
