Danica Popovski Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Danica Popovski, age 89 of Schererville, passed away Wednesday July 20, 2022. She was a woman of strong character and will be remembered for her positive attitude, warmth, and her constant smiles. Danica taught us so much through example, as well as through her many stories. She was very sociable and loved having family and friends in her company. Danica was a very creative women, loving both design and baking. She was a talented dress designer/dress maker (modistra) and owned her own business in Macedonia. Following her move to the US, she was employed by Albert Given for 20 years. Danica was a lifelong member of SS Peter & Paul Macedonian Orthodox Church and loved to volunteer with the bake sales. Mostly, however, she was our mother, Baba, and Baba Baba (great-grandmother). Danica was preceded in death by her husband Tase Popovski, parents Trajan and Kata Dimovski, siblings Vasil, Todorka, Dimitrija, and Blagoja, and son-in- law Cane Dimitrievski. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Lydia Dimitrievski and Suzana (Peter) Pavich, grandchildren Alexandra Dimitrievski, Gabriela (Jason) Williams, Nicholas, Lucas, and Alex Pavich, and great-grandson Hudson Williams. Danica is also survived by in-laws, nieces, nephews, kumovi, and lifelong family friends. Visitation will be Sunday, July 24, 2022 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, with a Pomen service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2022 at SS Peter & Paul Orthodox Cathedral, 9700 Broadway, Crown Point, with Father Georgij Gligorov officiating.
