Barbara N. Illo Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Barbara N. Illo (Wilcox), age 91, a loving mother to Linda Faron (Jim Miller), Nancy Illo and Patricia Milord, (Paul), and a doting grandmother to Eden Milord, passed away April 3, 2022. She is survived by her sisters Jovita Adelsperger and Noretia Wilcox-Kramer (Jerry), as a well as sister-in-law Carol Wilcox (Lawton) and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her youngest daughter Patricia Milord, and her siblings Chiquita Pernikowski (Ted), Rhoda Fathke (Robert) and Lawton Wilcox, Jr (Carol). Also, her former husband Joseph Illo. Born on March 23, 1931, Whiting, Indiana to parents Lawton and Nola Wilcox. Barbara grew up on the family farm in Crown Point, Indiana. She graduated from Crown Point High School in 1949 and married Joseph Illo of Chicago Illinois in the spring of 1950. They welcomed their three beautiful daughters Linda, Nancy and Patricia in the following years. After raising her family Barbara became the Purchasing Director for Harris-Hub, Harvey Illinois, and spent over 20 years as a steel purchaser for various bed manufacturers. In her retirement, Barbara dedicated herself to her family. Not only caring for her daughters, but also play a loving role in raising her granddaughter, Eden. Barbara enjoyed gardening, sewing knitting and crocheting. She also shared her artistic talent in watercolors of family members, the farm, nature and flowers. Surrounded by the love, thoughts and prayers of family both near and far, Barbara was laid to rest next to her husband of 23 years at Oakland Memory Lanes cemetery, Dolton, Illinois.
