Sharon C. Norrman

Sharon C. Norrman, 82, of LOFS (Crown Point), passed away peacefully on Wednesday, 6/4/25. Sharon was born on March 29, 1943, in Gary, IN, as the eldest daughter of Arnold Dean and Anne Campbell; both preceding Sharon in death. Sharon is now reunited with her loving husband of 53 years, Charles Andrew Norrman Sr. She is survived by her son, Charles A. Norrman Jr. (Stacie); 3 daughters, Joanne (Chris) Shaffer, Kim (Brien) Crotty and Kathy (Daniel) Giron; 6 loving grandkids & their special significant others, who affectionately referred to her as “Grammy” and “Grandma”, Heather Shaffer (Adam Beatty), Taylor Shaffer (Jake Kazmierczak), Connor Hale (William Olds), Zachary Wasniak, Alexandria Williams (Sam Hicks) and Addison Williams; 4 adorable great grandchildren, Brooklynn, Isabella, Allie, Walker and baby Marlowe; sisters, Delores Nobles and Colleen (David) Ramsey; and brother, Gordon Campbell; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Norrman and a host of loving nieces and nephews near and far; who all love and will miss her dearly. Sharon was a 1961 graduate of Wirt High School and moved to Beaufort, SC shortly after to marry her special Marine, Chuck, where they had their eldest daughter, Joanne, before moving back to Gary, IN where Chuck went to work at U.S. Steel and Sharon in the Aetna schools where she worked for years before earning her CNA license and spending over 25 years at St. Anthony’s caring for patients in both the nursing home and assisted living before retiring in 2008. She spent many of these years caring for patients in the Alzheimer’s unit and made lifelong friendships with her colleagues on the midnight shift. In her younger years, Sharon was a sorority member where she met two of her very best lifelong friends, Connie Zaharias and Sandra Bozell who she spoke about often and loved dearly. Sharon was also a member of the Red Hat Society and loved going to musical shows and plays. In her retirement, Sharon was a member of the Women’s Marine Corps League Auxiliary located in Hobart, IN where she served as the treasurer for a term. Sharon loved to go camping with family and friends; she took many trips to the Ozarks and Gatlinburg with her husband and dear friends. The Grand Ole Opry and Dollywood were some of her favorite stops. Mama Bear, as she was affectionately referred to in her later years, will always be remembered for going out of her way to make EVERY holiday and birthday special. Mom would work a full midnight shift only to come home, open gifts, make a fabulous holiday meal, and entertain the family for hours. She was a hard worker and always went the extra mile whenever there was a vacation or a special occasion. Sharon/Mom/Grandma/Grammy will be dearly missed by all who loved her so, but there is comfort in knowing she is finally with Dad whom she missed so much.
