Sandra L. Shreve

Sandra L. Shreve (nee Wagner), age 73, affectionately known to family and friends as Sandy, passed away on June 7, 2023 with her husband by her side. She was born in Rensselaer, Indiana on July 5, 1949. Sandy was a graduate of Crown Point High School class of 1967. Sandy resided in Crown Point with her husband where they raised their three sons. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents -John and Marjorie Wagner (nee Knoezer), father-in-law-Jack Shreve, brothers-in-law - Larry Askren and Shane Miller, and sister-in-law - Linda Shreve. Sandy is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ed Shreve; sons - Eddie (Danni) Shreve, Scotty (Jenny) Shreve, Chuck (Brooke) Shreve, honorary son - Chad (Laura) Wright; grandchildren -Jessica (Jim) Kaiser, Aaron Morrow-Shreve, Phillip Shreve, Jacks Shreve and Isaac Shreve; great-granddaughter Adalynn Kaiser; sisters – Robin Askren, Pam (Vince) DiDonato, Anne Miller; brother - Scott Wagner; mother-in-law, Dorothy Shreve; brothers-in-law – Jim Shreve and David Shreve; and sister-in-law Nancy (Ed) Dudzinski. Sandy was a loyal employee at Kmart where she worked as the lady's wear manager, retiring after 34 years. She made many great friendships working there and kept in touch with those friends after she retired. Sandy enjoyed get-togethers with family and friends. She had years of experience hosting, so you could always count on Sandy to volunteer to help with your party. If there was a wedding, she was always ready to bring the cowbells! Sandy completed the Purdue Extension Master Gardener Program and was without a doubt, a Master Gardener. She spent countless hours in her garden, growing award-winning flowers and vegetables. Her gardening skills earned her multiple Best in Show and first place ribbons. She was generous with her gardening advice and gave away plants she started in her greenhouse. Sandy will be missed dearly by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lake County Master Gardeners in Care of Purdue Extension in Sandra Shreve’s honor. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home & Crematory, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN.
