Nancy Granger

With deep love and respect, we celebrate the remarkable life of Nancy Granger, affectionately known to many as "Mama G,” who passed away on July 14, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on September 24, 1955, in Gary, Indiana, Nancy was the beloved daughter of Kenneth William Mark and Alberta Mark, both of whom have predeceased her, along with her brothers Rick Mark and Ron Watson, her niece Candice Mark, and her cherished Greek God, Nicholas Matsis. Nancy's life was a testament to resilience, love, and community spirit. She was a devoted mother to her children, Rob (Rhonda) Granger, Doug Granger, and Sarah (Joe) Foster/Zaradich, all of whom carry forward her legacy of strength and kindness. Her grandchildren — Devin (Isabella) Granger, Tyler Donsbach, Luke Donsbach, Aiden Granger, Jayce Granger, Emily Foster, Alaina Foster, and Joey Zaradich — were the light of her life. She adored each of them with a warmth that only a grandmother could provide, and they will forever cherish her memory. Her great-granddaughter, Thalia, brought immense joy to her heart, and Nancy's love will continue to guide her as she grows. Nancy is also survived by her loving sisters, Brenda Watson, Cindy (Joe) Buchanan, and Lori Mark, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who adored her. Her extended family includes many friends and the dedicated staff at Grangers and End Zone, all of whom lovingly called her Mama G, emphasizing the nurturing spirit she shared with everyone she met. Nancy spent most of her adult life working for the Lake County Juvenile Court and spent 19 years working her weekends at the Country Lounge to make ends meet; little did she know when she took that weekend job she would find a love of the industry so much so to plant the seeds leading her to open her own Restaurant/Bar which you all know now as Grangers in Hobart, Indiana. Only to remember how unstoppable she was and that if you work hard enough all dreams can become reality, so she reached high and in a few short years she acquired The End Zone Bar and Grill in Hobart, Indiana. That's the thing about Mama G; she was never afraid to take a chance that could benefit her children and community. Her dedication to her community was unwavering, and she spent countless hours supporting those around her. Nancy's love for her grandchildren was unparalleled, and her nurturing spirit made everyone feel like part of her family. She had a unique ability to make others feel cherished and cared for, a quality that helped her touch so many hearts. Her endless love for life and her community will be remembered by all who knew her. Services will be held at Burns Funeral Home & Crematory 701 East 7th Street Hobart, Indiana 46342. Visitation will take place Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
