MARGARET LEONE BOERSMA One of the finest gifts God gave the world was a beautiful baby girl named Margaret Leone LaFleur on May 4, 1916, right in the middle of World War I. Born in Holmen, Wisconsin to Ross and Margaret LaFleur, her life was one of service, kindness and respect to each person she met. After graduating from Holmen High School, she attended one year of business school in LaCrosse and then married her sweetheart Willard Rink Boersma on March 10, 1938. They became farmers and also produced six unique, strong and amazing children. In 1960 God called them to work with children who had no homes. Part of Leone died with her husband in 1972, but she grew in the strength of the Lord and proceeded to bless and touch everyone she met until she died Monday afternoon, September 14, 2015. Most children she knew received a blanket, bib, Raggedy Ann or Andy and mittens. Most adults she knew received a home baked goodie from her kitchen....more than once. She gave and gave because she received such joy from this action. She truly was a person who always put others first. This fine lady is survived by her daughter Carolyn (Gary) Butler, sons James (Nancy) Boersma, Ralph (Karen) Boersma, David (Karen) Boersma, son-in law Ronald Baguhn, and daughter-in law Beverly Baguhn, along with 32 grandchildren, 99 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren, brother Dwayne (Gayla) LaFleur and many nieces and nephews. With great sadness, she was preceded in death by her husband Willard, son Russell, daughter Margaret Baguhn, grandchild Kristie Boersma and brothers LaVern & Roger LaFleur. Burns Funeral Home & Crematory, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, Indiana is serving the family. Visitation will take place on Friday, September 18, 4 to 8 pm at Burns Funeral Home. Saturday, September 19 at Bethel Church 10202 Broadway, Crown Point, Indiana visitation will be at 4 pm, with the funeral service officiated by Rev. Gary Butler, beginning at 5 pm. Dinner to follow. Burial will be Monday, September 21, 1 pm at Green Mound Cemetery, Holmen, Wisconsin. Memorials in Leone's name may be given to Shepherd's Ministries, 1805 15th Ave., Union Grove, WI 53182, which is a home for adults with intellectual disabilities. This is the day that the Lord hath made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.
