George W. Ginter

George W. Ginter, age 83, of Las Vegas, Nevada and formerly a longtime Hobart resident, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. George was a Real Estate pioneer. He and his wife Joyce started Ginter Realty in their home on Lake Street in 1967. In 1970, they moved the growing business to downtown Hobart where it is still a family operated business today. George was a World War II veteran and served as a front gunner in the Army Air Corps. A man of many interests, George served as President of the Hobart Chamber of Commerce and the Realtor Association, and was a proud member of the Shriners. George loved to be surrounded by his family and enjoyed traveling and gold mining. He retired to Las Vegas in 1990. His wife Joyce Rouse Ginter passed away on June 1, 2003. On July 4, 2005, George married Barbara Brown and they have enjoyed a wonderful life together. George is survived by his wife Barbara Brown Ginter of Las Vegas, NV; children Peggy Wilson, Polly (Denny) Koesters, Clifton Adelman, Mark Adelman, Carrie Adelman Ledyard, Steve Brown, Gary (Melinda) Brown, Nancy (Greg) Nicholls and Janet (Brian) Snedecor; grandchildren Laura (Dan) Walstra, Ashlee, Anna and Clifton Adelman, Luke and Daniel Ledyard, Steve, Angelique, Eric and Kyle Brown, Jessica and Erin Brown, Nicole, Megan, Jennifer and Mathew Nicholls, Ryan (Brienne), Brianna and Brooke Snedecor; 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Debi (Hugh) Mendenhall; brother-in-law James (Patty) Rouse; and special nephew Byron Ginter. In fulfillment of George’s wishes, funeral services will be private. There will be no visitation.
