Concettina Rose Muffoletto

In Loving Memory of Concettina Rose Muffoletto Merrillville, Indiana Tina, a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully Monday, November 17, 2025 at the age of 94. Born in Gary, Indiana, on June 21, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Lena Nigrelli. Tina's life can be embodied and remembered by selfless love and faith. She was a dedicated stay-at-home mother that fostered a home of warmth, comfort, and family tradition. Her faith and family were the guiding lights of her life. Tina was independent. She drove herself everywhere, slowly. Tina planted flowers, raked her own leaves and shoveled snow. She will be missed for all of the small, meaningful acts that were just her daily routine. Tina was renowned for sending her timely greeting cards and ensuring a handwritten note was sent for every birthday, anniversary, and special occasion, even Halloween. Sundays were defined by her legendary homemade sugo, pasta and meatballs, a labor of love that brought everyone to the table. Her children and grandchildren grew up on her signature pear pies (using the fruit grown on trees in the back yard) and her perfectly baked Christmas cookies that were each plated identically and hand delivered to dozens of family and friends. Tina is survived by her loving children, Mary Ann Gulbrandsen, Anthony Muffoletto (Helen) and Jack Muffoletto; her 8 grandchildren: Angela Fama, Rebecca Parker (Kyle), Christina Gulbrandsen, Emily Gulbrandsen, Maria Muffoletto, Tony Muffoletto, Russell Muffoletto (Kathleen), Jack Muffoletto; and her 6 great-grandchildren: Brittany Gulbrandsen, Rachel Moyers, Michael Moyers, George Parker, Madilynn Gilmer, Alexandra Gilmer. Ever devoted to her family, Tina has now joined her beloved husband, Tony Muffoletto, Jr. and her brother, Vito Nigrelli in eternal rest. (Vito survived by wife Vera and children Paul and Joanna). Her legacy of love, cooking and the simple kindness of a mailed card will forever resonate within her family. A visitation will be held at Burns Funeral Home & Crematory, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held directly at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs – South Campus (formerly Our Lady of Consolation), 8303 Taft Street, Merrillville, IN, on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, Tina will be laid to rest alongside her husband Tony, at Calumet Park Cemetery, 2305 W. 73rd Ave. Merrillville, IN. A celebratory luncheon is scheduled following the cemetery service at Innsbrook Country Club, 6701 Taft St, Merrillville, IN.
