Audrey Elizabeth Beck

Audrey Elizabeth Beck, age 74, of Cedar Lake, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024, with her loving family at her side. Audrey was born August 7, 1950, in Crown Point, Indiana, to Marie (Tyler) Graves and the late James “Jim” Graves. Also preceding her in death are her loving husband Lawrence “Larry” Beck, and daughter, Julie LaDere. She is survived by her siblings: Larry (Katie) Graves, Theresa Graves, Randy Graves, Gordon Graves: her children: Donald (Valerie) Beck, Larry (Catherine) Keiser, April (Peter) Briggs, Amy (Don) Holt, Dirk (Katelyn) Beck; grandchildren: Corey Beck, Tyler Beck, Lauren LaDere, Lindsay LaDere, Kaley (Matthew) Abercrombie, Danyelle (Matthew) Janes, Heather Holt, David Holt, Allison Holt, Hunter Briggs, Zachary (Kota) Bachusz; and great grandchild Nova Janes. Audrey excelled at school, graduating early in the top of her class at Crown Point High School. Audrey dedicated her life to her family, raising her children and being a partner to her husband, all while making their houses into the loving homes that everyone that visited felt. True to her passion for education and knowledge, she chose to accept the challenge of homeschooling their children for portions of their education. Later in life, she pursued that passion even further, by working as a teaching assistant with special needs students at the local elementary school. In her free time, Audrey enjoyed sewing, reading, listening to music, dancing, cooking, being an active member of their church, and spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Audrey loved entertaining and planning fun activities for the grandchildren at their home. Her playlist in heaven will certainly include songs from Air Supply, Barry Manilow, Alabama, Alan Jackson, Bee Gees, and Elvis. In the words of her daughter April, “During her later years, she learned to dance like nobody was watching.” We should all be so lucky. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of meeting her.
