William Anthony White

William Anthony White was born on November 7, 2012, in Merrillville, Indiana and passed away November 23, 2024, at the age of 12. William was born to Loretta White and spent most of his childhood in Hobart, whilst invading Gary to assert his dominance on the football field. Although young, he was equipped with the weight of wisdom beyond his years. He possessed a prominent ability in self – reflection and was never afraid to push himself and learn from mistakes. William had clarity and understood growth was a lifelong journey. He enjoyed football, basketball, fishing, video games, food, traveling (especially to Kentucky), as well as anything else his older siblings were into. William walked this Earth to provide a smile on everyone’s face. When it was dark, William was the light. He was more than a son and brother. William was the heart and soul to everyone that he was around. He brought passion and energy, whether he was at school, home, or on the football field, that could lift everyone around him. William loved football and his love for the game was unmatched. His dedication was inspiring to others. William was kind and had the ability to make everyone feel included. His infectious smile truly defined who he was, along with his beautiful eyes and amazing manners. William had a unique ability to make everyone feel important, to build others up when they needed it most, and to celebrate the successes of others as if it were his own. William was a friend to all. He had a heart full of compassion, always thinking of others before himself and bringing joy to every moment he shared with everyone he met. His laughter, enthusiasm, and energy will be deeply missed. His presence was a constant reminder of what it was like to be a part of a family and team, to have each other’s back and to never give up. William always wanted to make others around him better and help others the way his family did for him. At the young age of 7 years old, William made a big decision and made it known, if something ever happened to him, he was going to help others! His one hope was to give someone the ability to see for the first time. We are honored that his wish came true, and our William will continue to help others as he was able to donate his organs, tissue, bones, skin, and eyes. That definitely makes him the HERO that he has always been in his family’s eyes. William was welcomed into heaven by his great-grandmother; Florence (Mamaw/Cookie) Gordon, great-grandfather; William Andrew Strunk, great-uncle; Henry K. Williams, great-aunt; Mattie Pearl Williams, cousin; Tiffani Marie Strunk. William is our first angel, was deeply loved, and will never be forgotten by his mother; Loretta White, grandparents; Miles & Loretta Williams, siblings; Monte White Jr., Jacob White, Makya Poland, Quinten White, Michael Poland Jr., Miles White, Charles White, Andrea Sanders, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Services will be held at Burns Funeral Home & Crematory 701 East 7th Street Hobart, Indiana 46342. Visitation Sunday, December 1, 2024, 3:00 – 7:00 PM.
