Kimberlie Ann Spangler

Kimberlie Ann Spangler (nee Carrabine) St. John, IN Kim Spangler, age 43 passed away Sept. 22, 2009, after two years of courageously battling brain cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. Kim is survived by her loving husband, Robert Spangler; precious daughter, Madison Lea; beloved mother, Trish (McQuillin) Carrabine; dear brother, Michael Leo (Stacy) Carrabine, Greenwood, IN; ; special nieces and nephews: Zachary & Macy Carrabine, Serena Spangler, daughter of Julie Spangler; Adam DeMeyers, son of Sue (Spangler) DeMeyers, Mother-in-law, Anita Spangler and Father-in-law, Bob (Jean) Spangler; as well as numerous Aunts, including her Godmother, Laurie Custer, Uncles, Cousins, and so many cherished, wonderful friends including Muffin, her puppy. Preceded in death by her beloved father, Leo T. Carrabine in 1998; brother and sister, David and Kelly; Grandparents, Michael (Dick) and Mary Carrabine; and Francis W. and Eva (Nana) McQuillin. Kim was born in Gary, IN on February 5, 1966 to Leo T. and Trish Carrabine. The family later moved to DeMotte, IN. Kim graduated from Kankakee Valley High School in 1984 with Honors, and was a 4 yr Cheerleader; Indiana University Bloomington in 1988; and later obtained her Masters Degree in Business from Depaul’s Kellstadt School of Business in 1999. Kim was so happy working with the greatest marketing group, Directions Research, Inc, as a Senior Marketing Research Analyst. Throughout her illness, Kim was truly an inspiration in her love and trust in God, acceptance of treatment, and her incredible positive attitude. She was the kind of person that lit up a room with her beautiful smile and fun-loving personality. Her caring and kindness to all who had the pleasure of meeting her will always be remembered and we believe that Kim will always be alive, but now in our hearts. Funeral Services will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 10701 Olcott Ave. Saint John, on Saturday, 9/26 at 11:00 am with Rev. Sammie Maletta officiating Interment: Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville Friends may call at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN on Friday, 9/25 from 2 to 8 pm and on Saturday from 10 to 11 am at the church.
