Jessica Rae Bernoska

Jessica Rae Bernoska, a vibrant, incredible soul, came into this world on October 16, 2000, leaving us unexpectedly & far too soon, on November 13, 2024, at the age of 24. Born in Watertown, Wisconsin, Jess was living in Westville, Indiana at the time of her passing. Graduating from Oconomowoc High School in 2019, she pursued a few different avenues until joining the Indiana Carpenter’s Union in 2021. She thrived in the industry, a very successful woman in a field where women are few. She had become a member of Local 1485, out of Laporte, Indiana, where Jess wanted to leave a legacy of structures that she created with her own two hands (i.e. Journeyman’s Distillery in Valparaiso, Indiana). She was passionate about her Labor Union and promoting what a rewarding career it is, it allowed her to accentuate her own creative flair. She had a work ethic that was driven, taking on the toughest jobs and longest hours. A great thirst for knowledge and skill along with the compassion to encourage co-workers that were struggling. Working with a wonderful crew that treated her with respect, who all became ‘family’. Jess is a true blessing to her craft. A lover of nature, gardening, feeding the birds, kayaking, she was artistic. There was so much more for her to do. We should all take her lead & continue to grow her legacy. Jess enjoyed everyone, had a heart of gold, and would give the shirt off her back to help anyone in need. A very passionate person, she put her heart & soul into everything that she did, into everyone she met. Jess will always be a true lover of peace, happiness, and spreading joy. Preceded in death by her grandfather; Tom Ozelie, grandfather; Wayne Bernoska, grandmother; Joan Sopko and grandfather; Mike Sopko. Jess leaves behind a loving family: Grandmother; Diana Radtke, father; Kenneth Troy (Leeanna Walker) Bernoska, mother; Deena (nee Ozelie) Rams & step-father Dean Rams, sister; Stephanie Bernoska, brother; Kenny Bernoska, sister; Ashley Bernoska, step siblings; Heather Rams, Kiara (Tim) Stahl, Jacob (Natalie) Rams, loving aunts and uncles; Dave (Tammy) Cain, Tom (Gina) Ozelie, Bob (Becky) Ozelie, Kim (Phil) Pall, Sherri (Dan) Djordjevich, Tracy, nieces and nephew; Briannah, Cylis, Teller, step niece and nephews; Kayler, Jace, Titan and Titus, cousins; Kevin, Deric, Dan, Addison, Owen, Stella, Samantha, Jennifer, Vic, Alex, Nathaniel, Ryan, and Jake. Visitation will be Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with the funeral service to follow.
