Jeslyn "Jess" Danielle Hohenberger, age 21, of Chesterton, passed away suddenly, on December 11, 2020. She was an 11, when perfection stopped at 10. She loved music and the arts with every bit of her being. Jess enjoyed painting & drawing so much, during which time, she displayed some of her many talents. The paint brush & guitar, were the ways in which she could express herself in strokes on canvas and on the strings of her guitar. As a young girl, she was so taken by her love of horses, she was riding Radar, bare back, at the tender age of 3. She learned to swim at Kim & Jessica’s and ride a mini kids bike by the time she reached 4. In grade school she learned to play the violin, by the talented Mr. Tom Schnabel. Her favorite teacher was Ms. Allison Yagodnik (Seely), who recently told me what a sweet & friendly girl she was, and that Jess will always hold a special place in her heart. Jess sang in choir and ran track in middle school. High school was all about Art class, in which she was able to pour her heart & soul out, into whatever medium she chose. Painting, drawing, and sculpting to name a few. I will keep her treasured art work with me, until such a time that I am called to meet with her again. High school also meant great friends & meeting the love of her life, Colin, whom she loved & cherished with her whole being. She promised her heart to him last Christmas, I’m grateful she had the opportunity to experience amazing love, in her short life. She is with God, and all her loved ones who have passed before her now, which gives us some comfort knowing she will be accepted & cared for every day from now on. All my love sweets, your Dad & I will love you forever. Jeslyn is survived by her father, Thomas Hohenberger and her mother, Brenda Hohenberger. Maternal Grandparents, Pamela Fisher (late Loren Fisher), and Grandfather Donald Bayer (late Lela Jahn) She was preceded in death by her Paternal Grandparents Richard “Dick” and Mary “Cookie” Hohenberger. And her beloved Uncles James “Jim” Hohenberger and Peter “Pete” Baum and her Aunt Janet Blacketor, along her late Aunt Dorothy “Dot” (Roger) Hussey, and Onilee (John) Pilzer. She is survived by her beloved Aunts and Uncles: Kathy (Steve) Frank, Keith (Monica) Bayer, Fran Hohenberger, Mary (Bill) Kroll, Barbara (Mike) Fischer, Carolyn (Al) Sickles, Susie (John) Eisenbrandt, and Patti (Tim) Smith. All her beloved Cousins: Kevin (Lori) Frank, Matthew Frank and Natalie Donovan, Christina Sickles, Jessica (Coel) Haas, Natalie Sickles and Paula Sickles, Patrick Kroll, Emily (Brandon) Reinke, Erica (Jacob) Schaefer, Thomas “Tom” Eisenbrandt and Mark Eisenbrandt, Jake (Megan) Smith, Samuel Smith, and Nikki Smith. Cassie Baum and Peter “Pete” Baum, Kristy Blacketor and Mike Blacketor, Jennifer Bayer (Aaron Muir), Melissa (Brandon) Richardson, Tim Bayer, Amy Anderson, Brett Bayer (Rachael Centanni), Natalie Bayer. and Deanen Bayer. She is also survived by her dearly loved Aunt Patsy Baum and Uncle Thomas “Tommy” Blacketor, Uncles, Robert “Bob” (Diane) Bayer, James “Jim” (Sue) Bayer, and Jack (Sherry) Bayer.
