Jerry "Bubba" Sprague

Jerry “Bubba” Sprague passed away on March 8, 2019 at the young age of 73. He attended Lew Wallace High School in Gary Indiana, married his high school sweetheart. He is survived by Laverne and their four daughters: Kim, Michele, Lori and Jaime, 2 sons in law, Rob and Scott who have never been in laws but "sons", 8 grandchildren, one great grandchild and many others who felt as though they were loved as his own. Jerry was honored and proud to be active in the Indiana Patriot Guard. He was loved by many and will be forever missed. It is a sad day here on earth, but he is rejoicing with those who preceded him in death: parents, mother and father in law, sister, brothers, son, and many close friends. Donations are requested in lieu of flowers. Gerald Dean Sprague may have been considered a friend, a husband, or a grandfather. However, he can be seen as a man with only two roles: a father, and a brother. He was a man that invited the world into his life, even if it was just for a brief moment. Even if the moments were brief, their impact can last a lifetime. They were always filled with joy and comfort, and they overshadowed our relentlessly harsh world. He let everyone know what happiness looks like, but his cheeriness would be masked if not for his constant support. “I'm Proud of You.” Those very words that Papa spoke gave the people around him hope for themselves. They were said often, but every time it felt genuine. Even in the bad moments, he was willing to help in any way he could. Often times his help is focused on emotions, and that is the support the world needs the most. He is a man of heart, and no one can disagree. Jerry may be gone from this world, but his love still gleams bright in these dark times. Although it is a time to mourn, his very memories should be embraced. He was proud of his family, and he is still making us proud. Thank you Papa Sprague for everything you have done for this world. Thank you… for welcoming us into your life.
