Brent Walker

Brent Walker, age 37 of Crown Point, IN went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, July 11, 2019. He is survived by the love of his life, Rachel Walker; 2 children, daughter Elli and son Austin; parents Eric and Linda Walker of Valparaiso; brother Adam (Kerry) Walker of Valparaiso; sister Erica (Cody) Chayhitz of Valparaiso; grandmother May Walker of Valparaiso; so many loving uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews and a large extended family of friends. Brent was an area supervisor for McDonald’s Restaurants operated by the Modrak / Templin Organization. He volunteered his services for the Clay Shoot for Ronald McDonald Children Charities and Northwest Indiana Food Bank Pantry on the Go. He was a 2001 graduate of Valparaiso High School. He was proud to be part of the families at Deep River Church of Christ in Merrillville, Real Life in Portage and GracePoint in Valparaiso. Brent lived his faith! He loved his family, friends, and people unconditionally. He was a unjudgmental source for encouragement, support, and life lesson experience advice for anyone who sought his help. Brent was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, (GBM; brain cancer), 2 years ago. Brent refused to let GBM alter him or his life purpose. He put on the full Armor of God, (Ephesians 6:10-18), and waged spiritual battle against this beast. His strength, determination, perseverance, unwavering faith, love and concern for his family and friends, instead of himself, remain his witness and testimony of Christ for us. Brent’s free spirit for life, his smile, and his hugs will be missed, but his Love will forever remain in our Hearts! A Celebration of Life Event will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Aberdeen Manor 216 Ballantrae St. Valparaiso, IN 46385. Family and friends are invited to visit with Brent’s family from 3:30 – 8:00 pm. A memorial service is scheduled at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts to Livin’ On A Prayer Foundation 2934 – 44th St. Highland, IN 46322. This foundation supports local Northwest Indiana families affected by Glioblastoma Brain Cancer .Burn’s Funeral Home, in Crown Point, will care for Brent’s arrangements. www.burnsfuneral.com
